Dining information
Where will I eat during the week?
McCroskey is directly across the street from the Hillside Café Dining Center. The Hillside Café provides summer meal service from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Northside Dining facility, a ten minute walk, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday through Friday. Meal hours will be posted at the entrance of each dining facility.
The cycle menu is
a daily listing of the items that rotate in the menu. Each menu lists
the entrees, desserts, pastries, and specialty salads that are served.
All of our residence dining facilities feature a fresh salad bar at lunch
and dinner. The residence dining facilities serve a vegetarian entree
during lunch and dinner every day. A vegetarian soup
or meatless Chili are also featured every day. Each residence dining facility operates a
fast service Grill and Deli. The menus feature nutritious meals designed
to suit the needs of the majority of our population. Dining Services supports
sustainability and social responsibility by:
- Purchasing lentils, garbanzos and locally milled flour from local, eco-friendly farmers.
- Providing fair trade coffee at all locations.
- Using trans-fat free oils in cooking.
- Participating in the campus recycling and composting program.
- Educating guests on the benefits of sustainability.
Where will I eat on the weekends?
During your Alive! Session you will secure a CougarCard which is your "passport to life at WSU." You will use it for everything from checking out books at the library and bus access. You will also use this card on the weekends for meal purchases. Summer Advantage will deposit $69 on July 4, and $50 on July 12, and 19 for food purchases during the weekend when the dining centers are not open. CougarCard can be used for meals at on- and off-campus vendors. Click here to see the list of vendors. A few hundred feet up the hill from McCroskey Hall is The Bookie (The WSU Student Book Corporation) which houses many departments, including food options such as Café Wazzu and a convenience store.
